How refreshing to have a vacation around the time of my birthday and my anniversary. It seems to happen every time in February just for me. Valentine’s Day, my birthday, my anniversary, and usually the week off from work all make me feel very special.
I put my sewing and projects aside to enjoy the time with my husband. We were able to get away to the coast for a few days. We stayed at the lovely Continental Inn, went birding, and sight-seeing. We visited Drakes Bay and took the shuttle out to the lighthouse. The peninsula was once home to 26 dairies named for every letter of the alphabet. It’s a beautiful park with lots to see and do. Unfortunately a freezing cold wind blew all day long. No worries, though, we warmed up quickly in Point Reyes at the Point Reyes Station Restaurant.
Now we’re home and a quilting project awaits me. I bought a jelly roll, my first, of civil war era reproduction fabric. I watched a clever tutorial at Missouri Star Quilt Company and I have pieced together the top. That’s all for today! More updates on the quilt to come.
