painting in the middle

Just a few of my students’  latest paintings.  They are between the ages of 11 and 13.

We use inexpensive tempura paint instead of real watercolor paint. They use only the primary colors; red, yellow,  and blue, so they learn  how to mix them to get all of the other colors. A bit of black was used for the silhouetted tree in the foreground. We have a lot of fun painting. It’s my favorite part of the school day. Can you tell which painting is my example?  I love how they are all so different and colorful.
