I’m almost finished with a new coat for Leah. She chose a coat pattern from Lekala online pattern company. It’s made from 18 whale corduroy fabric from Fabric.com and the lining is from the local thrift. This is the second weekend dedicated to this cute little item. Leah says it has a bit of a steam punk look with the ruffles in the back. The hardest part is figuring out the directions. They are translated from Russian to English and listed in steps without pictures. Two things that gave me the most trouble were the instructions for the pockets and attaching the lining to the coat. I finally just had to just figure it out the best I could. ย Here are a few pictures of the coat so far. I still need to do the hem on the sleeves and bottom, do the buttonholes and buttons.

The colour is gorgeous….but those ruffles on the back are just adorable. Bet you’re loving making something so lovely for your daughter. Happy New Year btw!! Impressed by you using a pattern that may have language-difficulties in translation…..you’re so daring ๐

The coat looks amazing!
I’ve just discovered lekala patterns and after seeing your results I going to give them a try. I was a little daunted by the poor instructions but judging by your finished results I think the extra effort will be worth it. โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ
