How long have you been sewing: 45 years!
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I thought it would be enjoyable to sew again with the challenge and inspiration of “The Sew Weekly” and most importantly, with others who also love to sew.
What do you love most about sewing garments: I love that each piece is unique and made to fit me or some other lucky person that I sew for.
What do you hate most about sewing garments: What I hate is that sometimes they just don’t fit. Then I feel like I’ve wasted time and materials.
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I’d like to go a bit slower, and check the fit as I go. I’d like to keep better records, and when something does work, document, and use it again in the future. And also there’s repurposing fabric from the thrift store.
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: Oh, I have a few big ones! I have pledged to not buy any clothes retail for a whole year. I also have started an old-fashioned scrapbook that will include the outfits and their details for 2012.
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: Of course, The Sew Weekly is my favorite, but I’m discovering some other great sewing blogs such as Seamlessblog, The Sew Convert and then there are great online fabric sites like Vogue Fabrics, Beverly’s and Mood!
