Karen Steele played the minor character “Virginia” in the 1955 movie “Marty”. I played Virginia in a staged reading on the Ukiah Players Theatre stage. This week for the Academy Awards Challenge on the Sew Weekly, I made a very cute dress from a floral fabric that my daughter gave me. I used a 1942 Du Barry pattern that was originally only 15 cents! I had my hubbie take me to town to find some old victorian houses to pose in front of. He did a great job, so I’ll have to take it easy on the criticism.
