Yellow Roses–While I was just crazy about this delicate print of yellow roses, the fabric itself was difficult to work with. I had to apply every trick I knew to help this thin, polyester fabric hold together. I serged every edge before I sewed it. I also had to reinforce the darts and seams with ribbon and seam binding so that the fabric wouldn’t stress at the seams. I guess I should have doubled the fabric with a lining to make it stronger. This fabric was probably not meant for dress-wear, but for curtains or something. I’m almost afraid to wear it, it’s so delicate. At least it held together while my husband took a few pictures. I love the pattern though. It’s NewLook 6000. It has the circular tucks on just one side, that cause it to drape in an interesting way. I will definitely make it again and definitely with a better fabric choice. What could I use besides my standard go-to fabric which is cotton? Any suggestions?
