Day three was spent touring the sights of Washington D.C. in the mobiltour bus. We passed the train station, the Smithsonian museums, the Washington Monument, the Capitol, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, The US mint, some other federal buildings, and finally the White House. All the while, our tour guide fed us with interesting historical facts and trivia. For example, did you know that there are four U.S. presidents that are not burried on U.S. soil?
We had an unexpected encounter with Obama while enjoying some ice cream. He didn’t have a lot to say, but he gave us his undivided attention.
